This program celebrates the enduring legacy of the Center for Contemporary Music at Mills College, the legendary Oakland studio that has played a vital role in shaping the direction of electronic and computer music over the past 40 years. Known for prioritizing music performance over technology research, the center has served as a home for successive generations of electronic music pioneers. The lineup includes John Bischoff’s Edge Transit, for cello, bass, piano, percussion and electronics; David Rosenboom’s Zones of Coherence, for trumpet and live electronics; Chris Brown’s Stupas, for vibraphone, piano and computer; James Fei’s The Nerve Meter, for microphones and frequency-shifted feedback; Maggi Payne’s System Test (fire and ice), for electronic sound and light; and Placeholder, a new work by Mark Trayle. Performers include Daniel Rosenboom, trumpet, and William Winant, percussion.

Centered around Dutch master Louis Andriessen’s gem-like Dubbelspoor, this new program from the brilliant Los Angeles ensemble puts forth a lineup of compositions that reflect distinctive international perspectives. The glittering title piece, meaning “double track,” scored for celeste, piano, glockenspiel and harpsichord, contemplates the phenomenology of refracted views from two trains passing each other as they travel in opposite directions. The concert also includes Australian composer Liza Lim’s Veil, featuring Daniel Rosenboom on trumpet; Arpege, by Franco Donatoni, Esa-Pekka Salonen’s compositional mentor; and Raphaele Biston’s .oscil—hot off the presses of the Conservatoire de Paris.

FRIDAY, January 19th at 10:30 pm: PLOTZ! @ B.B. King's Blues Club on Universal City Walk
This is it people. PLOTZ! will be throwing a huge bash celebrating it's highly anticipated CD release, Extraordinary Renditions with several other bands at B.B. King's Blues Club on Universal City Walk. Doors open at 6 pm and music will be running through the night. We need at least 50 people to show up but we're shooting for more like 200. Please help us make this a huge event!

November 29th at 8:30pm: Markus Stockhausen and Tara Bouman Moving Sounds @ REDCAT
Renowned German trumpeter, composer and sonic innovator, Markus Stockhausen, and Dutch clarinetist Tara Bouman play one night at REDCAT. Stockhausen, son of composer Karlheinz, is hailed not only as one of the today¹s leading soloists, but also as a fearless, genre-defying pioneer of improvisatory music. Stockhausen and Bouman will open with a set of improvisations that move freely between ambient, post-bop and avant-baroque chamber music. Later, Stockhausen and Bouman will be joined by leading Los Angeles musicians Vinny Golia (woodwinds), Daniel Rosenboom (trumpet), and David Rosenboom (piano).

?Masterpieces for a Celebration? is a collaborative evening of world-class music featuring members from both the San Luis Obispo Wind Orchestra and the Cal Poly Wind Ensemble, conducted by Cal Poly Professor of Music William Johnson. The 10th Anniversary Wind Orchestra was custom-commissioned for the event, featuring incomparable guest soloists Paul J. Sherman (English horn) and recording artist Daniel Rosenboom (trumpet).

Kai Kurosawa, Brian McLaughlin, and myself will be performing as a trio on Gary Fukashima's series at LAND in Little Tokyo on 2nd Street in Los Angeles. This group is a fantastic blend of characters...to listen to samples, click here! Tracks 9 thru 12 are us playing Kai's compositions: Blueberry Green; Taken; Snow, Slippery, Cold, Night, Bridge; and Goodnight and Go. Don't miss this...it will be a night to remember.
June 9th: World-Premeire of LeBaron's, "Way of Light" for trumpet, tape, and video at the ITG Conference in New Jersey.
I will be performing the world-premeire of Anne LeBaron's "Way of Light" for trumpet, tape, and video at the International Trumpet Guild's anual conference in Rowan, New Jersey. It will be featured in the main hall as part of their "New Works" concert. This will also be an ITG debut for me, so wish me luck!

I'll be performing with Bel-Air Presbyterian Church for their Easwter extravaganza at the Hollywood Bowl. A spectacle to be sure, and my first time playing at the Hollywood Bowl...movin' on up!

I'll be performing the solo cornet part to Igor Stravinsky's 'L'Histoire du Soldat with members of the Frank Zappa's band, the Mothers of Invention, re-invented as the GRANDE Mothers of Invention, who will perform their show as the second half of the concert. DO NOT MISS!!!

I'll be performing with the CalArts trumpet class in a concert of all forward looking musics. Organized by Ed Carroll, this annual event is a show of trumpet fireworks and an exploration of the trumpet's role in an evolving musical society.

I'll be performing with Miroslav Tadic, Nick Block, Pete Slocombe, Graham Chapman, and Gene Coy in a concert of Frank Zappa's music, as well as Turkish music by Kudsi Erguner. This one will surely kick ass!
